//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// How to use MimeKit as a PGP Filter Feb. 10, 1997 Yutaka Sato //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// 0) General MimeKit contains two filter commands; enMime for encoding and deMime for decoding. Both take a RFC822 message from the standard input and put a converted message to the standard output. % enMime [options] < infile > outfile % deMime [options] < infile > outfile Conversions applied to the message are specified by options; CHARCODE={JIS,EUC,SJIS} ... for deMime only PGP={sign, encr, decr, mime}* These commands can be used as a PGP filters to sign, encrypt, decrypt, or convert text data in RFC822 messages based on PGP encryption. They recognize both ``PGP Message Exchange Formats [RFC1991]'' and ``MIME Security with Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) [RFC2015]'' format (PGP/MIME). To use them as PGP filters, you need a pgp command installed somewhere in your command PATH. EnMime and deMime use pgp as a filter command. When necessary to process a message, pgp will ask you a pass phrase on the terminal. USAGE: 1) Sign in PGP/MIME format % enMime PGP=sign, mime 2) Sign in PGP format % enMime PGP=sign 3) Encrypt in PGP/MIME format % enMime PGP=encr, mime 4) Encrypt in PGP format % enMime PGP=encr 5) Convert signed PGP/MIME to PGP format % deMime PGP=mime 6) Decrypt signed or encrypted PGP/MIME or PGP format % deMime PGP=decr ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
